R.E.M - Shiny Happy People. I love this song, even if it is an old song. I can not believe that it is already 21 years old! As a little girl I have heard it a lot. My parents had it recorded on a video cassette. The videotape was with former MTV songs and whenever we did not like the TV program, we turned the video on. The family then sat together and had a cozy time. Such times were the best! I can remember more likely of such moments, than the gifts I have received in my childhood. So that was a small jump in my childhood but now back to the future :)
I look forward to this day, I have prepared some interesting posts!
Hello Dears, I wish you a great Saturday. Today we visit the relatives, since I love to travel, I can not wait. Before we take off I would like to post a song from my childhood, Awilo Longomba - Carolina. I love this song to this day! Have fun with this song and enjoy your day!
Brick and Lace - Love Is Wicked. A great song for a Friday, I wish you a fabulous evening, whether at a party, at the movies or just relaxing on the sofa
Today's retro music is from the South African reggae star Lucky Dube. Lucky Dube was born on 03 August 1964 born. I have only good memories when I hear his songs. My husband and I have heard his songs several times a day at the beginning of our relationship. We have always wanted to go to his concert once. His tragic death on 18 October 2007 was to naught our plans. What remains is his immortal songs! The songs spray an energy and joy of life, you realize that it was his passion. His lyrics are timeless, because they deal with everyday issues. Here are three of my favorite songs with lyrics from him:
Lucky Dube - Oh my son
Lyrics
Oh my son, I am sorry about what happened Many years ago Me and your mother had trouble all the time We could not stay together any more The last solution was getting divorced I know what that means to your life I can hear you crying From a million miles away Calling "Daddy" but there 's no answer
But deep down in me I know the reason why 'cos the blood that runs in you Is the same as the blood in me I mean the blood, the blood that runs in you Is the same as the blood in me
Oh my son I' m sorry Oh my son I' m sorry Oh my son I' m sorry
I can hear you crying From a million miles away Calling "Daddy" but there 's no answer But deep down in me I know the reason why 'cos the blood that runs in you Is the same as the blood in me I mean the blood, the blood that runs in you Is the same as the blood in me
'cos the blood that runs in you Is the same as the blood in me I say the blood, the blood that runs in you (fade)
Lucky - Dube Slave
Lyrics
Ministers of religion
have visited me many times to talk about it They say to me I gotta leave it I gotta leave it It's a bad habit for a man But when I try to leave it my friends keep telling me I'm a fool amongst fools
Chorus: Now I'm a slave, a slave I'm a slave I'm a liquor slave I'm a slave, a slave, slave I'm a slave Just a liquor slave
I have lost my dignity I had before trying to please everybody Some say to me yo yo I look better when I'm drunk Some say no no no I look bad you know Sometimes I cry I cry but my crying never helps me none
Chorus: 'Cos now I am a slave, a slave I'm a slave I'm just a liquor slave I am a slave, a prisoner I'm a slave Just a liquor slave
Every night when I'm coming back home My wife gets worried 'cos she knows Shes got double trouble coming home Sometimes I cry I cry lord I cry But my crying never helps me
Lucky Dube - Let the Band play on
Let The Band Play On Lyrics
Even Though His Times Are Hard you Can Hardly See It On His Face because Of The Smile people Coming In From Miles Away to Hear Him Sing And See Him Play so He Can' T Disappoint Them Now the Room Is Full Of Smoke but He Can See Them Dancing and He Can See Them Crying it Doesn' T Bother Him At All 'cause He Knows It' S Only Tears Of Joy
chorus: let The Band Play On there' S A Girl Sitting By The Corner There and She Looks At Him With Her Big Brown Eyes he Smiles Back And Carries On Playing it Doesn' T Bother Him At All somehow, It Gives Him Some Comfort police Came In Halfway Through The Night with The Good News neighbours Are Complaining 'cause The Music Is So Low Low Low Low so Turn It Up, Now chorus: let The Band Play On
As a young girl, I've danced to this song so much. This song came out when we were on a school trip in Italy, every night we danced on it. It's been 10 years ago. How time flies.
Hello Leuts, after two days with my dear mother, I am now back. During my stay, we have a lot of old clips from the 90's looked at and we had a lot of fun. Many songs were crazy, funny and also beautiful. So I thought that many had also fun with old songs. So I would present a lot of old songs on a regular basis. Today I'll start with Coolio and "Gangster's Paradise" I wish you much fun with the song!
